Tarkan took time out from his series of national summer concerts for soft drink giant Fanta, to visit the Captain Yahya Kassel Child Village in the Turkish province of Kocaeli, near neighbouring Istanbul.

Together with Mika-Der's chairman Nersin Ercan, vice-chairman Arzu Çebi, members Banu Birkan and Sena Ağaoğlu, Tarkan helped to create an unforgettable day for the tiny hearts.

The Tiny Hearts Foundation was created in 2006 with the aim of improving the condition and care of children living in nurseries and orphanages in Turkey.

Tarkan had joined the ranks of Mika-Der in 2009, when he took to the stage for a special grant ball to raise money for the association. Media reports on Tarkan's recent visit to the children's home in Kocaeli write that nearly a million Turkish liras was raised during the 2009 evening for the benefit of the children.

"I'd do anything for them. I'm always by your side. Hoping to make many projects real in many cities," Tarkan had said at the exclusive evening, while renewing his promise to support Mika-Der in its new projects.
